Envirian LLC Granted Federal Trademark Registration

Reston, VA – Nov. 2, 2006 — Envirian LLC, the Reston, Va.-based national real estate technology franchise brokerage, announced today that the United States Patent and Trade Office (USPTO) has granted the company’s request for a federally registered Trademark.

“This is great news for Envirian which is steadily growing in franchise and agent numbers nationally,” G. Dean Wood, President/CFO of the company said. “Holding a federal trademark registration increases the strength and validity of the Envirian brand name. It further validates to the real estate industry that the Envirian name and its business model is here to stay,” Wood added.

To date, Envirian has franchises in operation in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

A trademark includes any word, name, symbol, or device, or any combination used, or intended to be used, in commerce to identify and distinguish the goods of one manufacturer or seller from goods manufactured or sold by others, and to indicate the source of the goods. In short, a trademark is a brand name.

According to the USPTO, federal trademark registrations have several benefits for companies. Among those benefits are:

• Constructive notice nationwide of the trademark owner’s claim.
• Evidence of ownership of the trademark.
• Jurisdiction of federal courts may be invoked.
• Registration can be used as a basis for obtaining registration in foreign countries.
• Registration may be filed with U.S. Customs Service to prevent importation of infringing foreign goods.
