Envirian LLC Announces Corporate Changes
Expanding Markets And Technological Developments Create New Roles for Leaders
Reston, VA. Oct. 28, 2007 — The move to go international last fall by Envirian LLC, the real estate technology franchise brokerage that offers a business model based on technology and collaboration has led to a redefining of roles for its co-founders, a company spokesperson said.
CEO Emeritus of Envirian, Dr. Lee Konowe, recently relocated to New Zealand to assist with the opening of international franchise of the firm's AustralAsia franchises, including Envirian of Christ Church New Zealand. In his new role, Konowe also serves as Envirian's international spokesperson for new business development of franchise opportunities worldwide and continues to oversee the company's patent applications and development.
Most recently Konowe developed and directed the launch of Envirian's Universe of Homes Website (http://universe-of-homes.com) to facilitate the marketing of real estate to prospective buyers around world.
Envirian co-founder G. Dean Wood continues to serve as the firm's President/Chief Financial Officer and Managing Member. With Konowe's departure to New Zealand, Wood purchased a majority ownership in Envirian and continues to handle all business activity from the company's headquarters in Reston, VA. In addition, Wood also serves as majority owner and Principal Broker of Northern Virginia Fine Homes (NVFH) located in Reston.
Francisco Barragan, Chief Administrative Offer of NVFH, now also serves as Envirian's Chief Administrative Officer, and is part owner of both firms.
The Envirian program is based on a model of business developed as early as 1999, when Konowe partnered with Wood to start Reston Homes Inc., in Reston, VA. The one-office company with a niche-marketing approach to selling homes by marketing the Reston area, quickly gained a foothold. The model found equal success in Loudoun County, VA, as Loudoun Homes and McLean Homes, in McLean, VA. By 2002, the three offices had 16 agents.
In 2004, Reston Homes with 40 agents and Front Door Properties, which Dean Wood had opened in 1993, merged to add 45 agents and two more offices, in Herndon and Bealeton, VA. The company also extended its reach to Maryland and DC through licensing agreements already established by Front Door Properties in those localities. At that time, the companies adopted the name Northern Virginia Fine Homes to reflect the broader reach of the once-niche marketing venture the Konowes and Wood had embarked upon in 1999. Currently NVFH has 85 agents in three offices.
Envirian has franchises in various territories in Arizona, California, Washington, D.C., Georgia, Maryland, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Franchises are scheduled to open within the month in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Virginia Beach, VA.
